Charmaine Green

I had the pleasure of catching up with Charmaine Green at the Yamaji Art Centre in Geraldton, we spoke about each others art practices and her journey and successful art career, I captured her reading a copy of her award-winning book Nganajungu Yagu that won the prestigious Victorian Premiers Literary Awards 2020 for the Poetry category.


Charmaine is from the Wajarri, Badimaya and Southern Yamaji peoples of Mid West Western Australia. She describes herself as a self-taught visual artist, community agitator, published poet, community development practitioner, and social sciences researcher. Charmaine is represented by the Yamaji Art Centre in Geraldton Western Australia.
